Luckily, a dear friend told me about the Mom Source Network while she was digging around her bag for a wayward pacifier. She told me that I should look into it. I corrected that I have yet to have a suckling and cooing mini being and that I will have to find my own network. She had thought that they work with all types of individuals and I should at least look into it.
Thankfully, I did the very next day. My husband and I had only moved back to Nashville a month prior for his job and I was trying to find my direction. I knew I wanted to set the stage for my life to have work/life balance so when a family begins then the flexibility is already in place. It was as if angels and trumpets were bellowing from the mountains as I read on website: "Our mission is huge but humble: To change with Way that Americans Work!" Yes! I had thought this for years and was exhilarated to know that Mom Source too wanted to create the culture of self-care and stability with the belief that they go hand in hand.
A questionare was filled out on my part and then I chose a time to speak with someone for a one hour interview. And this allotted time truly is the key to how this company excels. I was appointed to speak with Amy and she was so warm and genuine on the phone that I was easily put to ease and she was able to hear my true personality. I know that this conversation helped me to land a position so soon...that and of course, timing. After receiving a position that I believed to be an appropriate fit and I was submitted for it, I received a call from Andrea and she became my point person. Andrea and Amy had both created a strong relationship with the gentleman whom would be interviewing me and Andrea felt that my character along with my background would be a perfect fit. Soon after I found out that I had an interview. Andrea said that I could call her if I had any concerns prior to the appointment. So, not only did I have an interview that I was excited about but I also had in house support system that was also laying the bricks and creating a foundation for putting my best foot forward. I knew that they were rallying for me on the other side.
Last week, I found out that I got the position a few days after my second interview. Andrea called to tell me and I got to celebrate it with her on the phone. Mom Source Network is not only about finding the candidates the best positions but also about being the advocates for the employers. They listen to what is needed and then start connecting the dots. Thank you for drawing out and creating this opportunity for me.Sincerely, Durden S Napier
