My journey with the MomSource Network began as a member in the early stages of my first pregnancy over a year ago. During the time I was working in an executive role in Corporate America and wanted to see what options I had for flexible employment as my husband and I eagerly awaited our son. I was hungry to find a position that would allow me to balance my personal and professional life without having to give up one to appease the other. It was important to me that I keep my professional skills sharp and up to date while raising my son. I wanted to ensure that I would be able to supplement my family’s income and keep myself relevant in the working field.
Flash forward to today and I am working remotely for the MomSource Network as a Professional Development Advisor. I am constantly balancing the roles of mom, wife and business professional. While this juggling act is not always easy, it is always worth it. Placing value on my professional talents has not stopped because I have become a mom. I knew I wanted to continue networking to stay relevant in the workforce. Having a flexible position that helps me to better balance my various roles has become a cause that I am proud to help other men and women fight for. I am thrilled to work alongside the wonderful team at MomSource to advocate for more of us having a better sense of balance between our professional and personal lives.
The story of why I became a member within MomSource is much like that of the men and women I speak to every day as an advisor. The notion of “having it all” seems to have somehow gotten lost on our way to fulfilling our vision of the American Dream. Our mission at the MomSource Network is a simple and humble one: To change the way Americans work. We are here to match individuals with flexible job opportunities that best fit their unique schedules with progressive and family-friendly employers. My number one goal as an advisor is to advocate for our members for positions that will provide them with the flexibility they are needing while utilizing their skill sets to their full potential.
An aspect of what makes our company special is that we have members from all walks of life: single, married, children, no children and everything in-between! We work with the stay at home mom wanting to return to the workforce and the upcoming college graduate. We have helped find positions for the single dad and the retiree wanting to earn extra money. Members within the MomSource Network have diverse backgrounds and unique skill sets that include all industries from microbiology to teaching. Our member base includes individuals that hold a wide variety of degrees and certifications from thousands of schools and universities across the world.
The MomSource Network team works tirelessly to ensure we are able to offer resources that are as diverse as our members. We recognize that the needs of our members are not a “one size fits all” situation and what one member may need in resume assistance another may need in interview preparation. All in all, the MomSource Network wants to be able to provide the most current information on the market and the best possible opportunities to help individuals from all walks of life gain a little bit more of having it all.
